Like bad lines from a 50's sitcom

As the loooong, sloooow pour over YHC’s head, the little voices that speak to me sounded like Wally Cleaver talking to Lumpy and their friend, “aw, Chowder, you’re all wet.” And so it goes when you put a challenge to the PAX and the PAX seldom disappoint. Glad @3Threat had the stones to grab the bucket. But before all that…

The Thang
Mosey up to entrance
Return with high knees, butt kickers, Stoli skips
Mosey to entrance
Return in reverse, shuffle right, shuffle left
Grab a cup, mosey to end of parking lot, circle up, the form police are watching:
– SSH x 19 IC
– Imperial Storm Trooper x 19 IC
– Merkins x 10 IC (neutral spine, correct hand placement, keep elbows tight) – cup under chest, control descent
– Air squats x 10 IC (upright, chest out, head up, drive through heels with glutes) – drop cup and pick it up
– Seems like we did something else in here, but I can’t remember. Whatever it was, it involved a cup
– Lunges x 10 IC (upright, chest out, head up, shoulders back, keep toe in front of knee) – Pass cup between legs

That’s enough lecturing from Ward. Let’s Mosey.

Up to parking lot entrance, plank for six. Right turn down the hill and grab the bucket.
Mini WIB (Workout-in-a-Bag)/Circuit
– AYG to water’s edge – Air squats x 20
– Fill cup with nasty-stanky lake water, run back to bucket, dump it in
– Merkins x 10
– AYG toward street, then quadrephelia up mini-hill
– Run back to bucket
– Burpee broad jumps x 5
Rinse and repeat until time is called
If bucket is filled, the PAX get to dump it on YHC (the PAX were successful)

Line up on either side of pathway for Flip cup
Lands on side – 30 reps; open end down – 25 reps; open end up – 20 reps
– Flip cup – Carolina Dry Docks (CDD) x reps as dictated
– Flip cup – Jump Squats x reps as dictated
– Again, seems like we did a few more here but I can’t remember

Mosey to road; jailbreak to parking lot

– LBC x 19 IC
– Pretzel Crunch Left x 10 IC
– Pretzel Crunch Right x 10 IC
– Mason Twist x 19 IC (Thanks @Schultz! even though that hurt)
– Low Flutter with a hold at the end (nice!) x 20 IC (R2D2)
– Low Dolly x 20 IC (King Julian)
– Airborne Mindbender x infinity

– Back on Thursday at 0530
– Keep EHing your neighbors, co-workers and friends

Nakedman Moleskin
– Great job fellas – as pointed out, the circuits are 100% UVU (You vs. You); Stick with it, stay persistent and the results will follow. Love to hear that @Piston is already feeling the gains!
– Thanks for the opportunity to be out there with you guys today; and double thanks for letting me lead; way to put in the work.
– T-Claps to @CinderBlock and @TripleThreat for taking part in the Bear this past weekend. Looking forward to seeing you fellas at the next #CSAUP event (I’m looking at you @TheFarm)
– Y’all are nice… almost too nice…¬†letting me off the hook on the water dump. As you keep posting and strengthening the bonds between you, maintain that niceness, but don’t be afraid to share a little straight talk and hard looks. Hold each other accountable for action… not just any action, but the right action, which sometimes may not seem nice.. but it’s right. Sometimes the right thing is the hard thing. Thanks @TripleThreat for doing the right thing and holding me accountable for the bucket dump. But did you have to be so slow with the pour? And add extra lake slime before dumping it on me?

Thanks for the lead Chowder and thanks for the words of wisdom about accountability. I just didn’t want to be paying for your vaccinations later.

What Piston said in the COT is one of the reasons why we do what we do…to sharpen each other physically as well as in all aspects of life. Can’t wait to see what you’re doing six months from now brother!

  2. Skipper

@Chowda – Looks like fun one, especially since the pax got to dump on you! Speaking of accountability and that ’50s sitcom, I think I need to send a note to my old buddy @Haskell. Hey, @Schultz is back. #miracleshappen

Great lead Chowder. I especially liked the mini circuit at the end, it’s always good to be able to push myself. I saw the hole in the cups at the start and knew it would play in later. I also liked the focus on form, the cups helped me make sure I was doing it right. Not sure if I’ve been slacking on my squats in the past but those today were killer. Thanks Piston for sharing, it’s encouraging when you can see progress and then use it to inspire others to get stronger together.

  4. Preamble

Thanks for a great workout, Chowder! The circuit training w/ lake water helped keep it interesting. I hope the chemicals from the lake didn’t melt anything important!!!
