Moleskin:

YHC went out with a sweetheart PB last night and pulled 7 MM FNG’s from Fort Mill/Rock Hill. Great to see CSPAN and meet some “new to me” PAX. Thanks for making that trip. Hope you fellas enjoyed it.

I promised a Stinger sighting and missed him this morning. Hope all is well with you, brother.

YHC secured #thechamp @FoulBall as we were pulling out of AG this past Saturday. He may have been an MM FNG too but it doesn’t really matter. He did what he does. Very well.

@BillyFlynn #formerchamp — Sorry, brother, you forfeit champ status when you fail to compete, thus becoming the former champ. It’s in the rulebook and everything. Anyway, regarding your comments, not sure why you would expect to be anything less than successful with me. YHC expects to be fired around the same time @SouthBeach offers you your spot back – that’ll happen sometime around never. Good to have you back in the U.S. though and talking smack.

#motherlovebone YHC went nostalgic with the #playlist of late getting reacquainted with the greatest era of music in my lifetime and wanted to turn F3’s #babyboomers and #millennials on to it. To my fellow #GenXers you may remember @MotherLoveBone’s frontman Andrew Wood passed away, having OD’d on heroin, prior to the release of their debut album.

Two of the surviving members then recruited some unknown dude named Eddie Vedder and partnered first with Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell on a tribute to Andrew Wood titled #TempleoftheDog and later brought on Mike McCready to form Pearl Jam.

YHC’s love for this music happened well before my drug and alcohol fueled party days and I can honestly say that I have never been truly affected by any music since then, quite like that anyway. It was a special time #pure and I recall thinking WHO and WHAT is this. Awesome.

My father-in-law invented the #mixtape and we put this arrangement together for you.

  1. Bombtrack – Rage Against the Machine
  2. Alive – Pearl Jam
  3. Porch – Pearl Jam
  4. This is Shangri La – Mother Love Bone
  5. Stardog Champion – Mother Love Bone
  6. Hunger Strike – Temple of the Dog
  7. Say Hello to Heaven – Temple of the Dog
  8. Them Bones – Alice in Chains
  9. Plush – Stone Temple Pilots
  10. Wicked Garden – Stone Temple Pilots
  11. Black Hole Sun — Soundgarden

#cobains No Nirvana – YHC doesn’t like them.

Observations & Additional Notes

For those of you who have not had the luxury of spending quality time @TheWeaver like #TeamTempo, let me tell you, this time of year, the sunsets are fckin’ beautiful and a “conversation” with the indigenous may look/sound like this:

TT: Excuse me! What’s your name, sir?!!! What’s your name?!

I: Hogan. SGT. HOGAN.

TT: Well, I think you’re a real AS… Hogan? Any relation to Hulk, sir?

@DiGiorno’s Nice try. But no one will mistake your biscuits for delivery.

The Full Monty:

Okay, I’m going to say it, because I don’t think anyone else will. We need to step up our game regarding our donation to Operation Enduring Warrior. Let’s be honest, 500 men presenting a check for $5,000, while a nice gesture, is pretty weak. I was surprised to hear that our goal was only $6k to begin with.

Do the math and then consider this, if it’s important enough for you to be there, where we all spend somewhere between $50 – 100 to participate in a 1 hour event, to slosh around in the mud, high-five and bullshit for a couple of hours, then we all should consider making a matching contribution of your cost to play.

I will go out on a limb and feel pretty confident saying this, considering the working professional dynamic that IS F3Nation — it is highly unlikely that you will ever “miss” this money.

I understand and respect that most of us allocate X to Y charity and that’s your thing, I get it.

But given this particular scenario, we’re better than that. I know it and so do you. So let’s see if we can make it right moving forward.

As always, it’s an honor and pleasure leading the fine men of F3. Enjoyed it, fellas.

Probably the only other person I know that gets the Mother Love BoneTemple of the DogPearl Jam story. Three CD’s I still keep at the top of the stack.

  2. Maybe

FW, you bring me back with the music. You’re missing Chloe Dancer from the list, which was pretty much the best track on Mother Love Bone. Otherwise, great list.

  3. Maybe

Love that you threw Bombtrack in there. Complete outsider in this list, but one of the best pump up tracks in not-so recent history. Standard fare pre-HS football games and college rugby matches for me.

  4. CSPAN

    FW,
It was great to see you this morning, glad to hear your healthy again brother. How your legs feeling after carrying my 205 pounds up the stairs? In case you forgot my complaining…I still hate that stinking spiral…The #FortClowncar(s) enjoyed the trip this morning, and we appreciate the Q, and you mixing it up for us…. Amen on the charity, and guilty as charged, the matching contribution should be the standard and not exception.
As far as the #mixtape…are those country or western bands?
    AYE!

Bluegrass. Brother, I’m good — for now, tomorrow morning I may feel differently.
