A good day for some monkey business.

15 Highlanders, Traditioners and Rolling Stoners jumped out of the FS this morning for a little monkey business at Mallard Creek Park.  It went something like this…

Mosey with High Knees and Butt Kickers.  Watch out for the guys wheeling in at the last minute!

Circle Up for:

SSH x 20

Cotton Picker x 20

Imperial Storm Trooper x 20

Windmill x 20

Mosey to Practice Football Field to Stretch our legs.

Feet together touch toes / Feet apart Right Leg & Left Leg

Right over Left / Left over Right

Now for the main event, The Michigan!

10 x 100 yard sprints

1 Minute of Burpees

8 x 80 yard sprints

1 Minute of Monkey Humpers

6 x 60 yard sprints

1 Minute of Merkins

4 x 40 yard sprints

1 Minute of Mountain Climbers

2 x 20 yard sprints

1 Minute of Alternating Lunges

Mosey to my favorite school hill

Quadraphelia Uphill with 10 Merkins at top x 10

Crab walk down the hill for last set.

Now that our legs are burning, break up into three 5 man teams and mosey to the parking lot for Tug-of-War.  Three teams rotated turns on the rope with one team taking the virtual trophy in each round. *note to self…maybe I should not have let them pick the teams.

Mosey back to the cars for Mary.

The rain held off but the comments were flowing.  I heard FEBA, BS, Seriously?!? This sucks and I think ONJ took me off of his Christmas list.

Thanks for joining me this morning.  For those of you traveling for the holidays stay safe and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  For those staying local we can celebrate in the gloom!

Great work today guys! I know it was more like a Friday speed workout but I wanted to try it out anyways. Thanks for sticking with me.

@BOS – Solid workout and fun! Though I’m not getting the “monkey business” reference? Maybe because we did the Michigan? Only monkeys from Michigan? Wait, I was born in Michigan!

@BlackSheep – Thanks for the coffee, keep working on your #FS neighbors, and safe travels on your multiple trips to the mountains this week.

    Ahoy!

@BOS 2nd saturday in a row where even the runners say “wow, that was a lot of running.” That Michigan thing is whack. Loved the usage of the steep hill and the tug-o-war.

Apologies to my tog-o-war team – I bring nothing to that table!

@BOS that was just plain cruel! How does Michagan ever loose after doing those after every workout?? Tug a war was a nice ending.

@Skipper thanks for the Major Award! Already half-way through it.
