…and Nature Called

Ten PAX posted on a bitter Tuesday morning.  Temperature was 29 degrees, with a stiff breeze coming from the northwest…

Mosey up Lake Concord Rd. to the parking deck entrance, take a right and head to the mall.  Circle up in the Belk parking lot:

  • SSH x 20
  • Cotton pickers x 15
  • Mountain climbers x 20
  • Walk-out merkens x 10

Speed Interval Training (SIT):

  • Line up on the east end of the parking lot, sprint to the first light pole, jog to the second light pole, sprint to the third pole, jog to the fourth.  Turn around and head back, alternating sprinting and jogging between each pole.
  • 5 burpees, 5 mountain climbers in cadence
  • REPEATO x 2
  • Again starting at the east end, sprint to the 2nd pole, jog to 4th pole.  Turn around and head back, again sprinting to the 2nd pole then jogging the rest of the way.
  • REPEATO x 1

Indian run around the mall: each man takes a turn at the back of the train, dropping down for five burpees then sprinting to the front.

Mosey back to AO

  • LBCs x 20
  • In-and-outs for 1 minute
  • Alternating leg extensions for 1 minute

Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way: yes, I skipped out of the last SIT rep while suffering from some GI issues.  But happy to report everything went smoothly and I was able to rejoin the group after a couple minutes.  You can blame 5Dolla for feeding me too many beers at the Hornets game last night.

As for the WOD itself, today involved a lot of running.  Cujo had us tracked at 2.9 miles, with at least half of that coming on the speed intervals.  I think I can speak for everyone that we were not feeling the cold after the first round of sprinting.

Props to Grover for easily outpacing everyone (granted, we were actually jogging during the designated splits), and props to Deertick who grew a creepy moustache over the last few days.  Hopefully they’ll still let you into your kid’s school with that thing.

As always, it was a pleasure to lead you men.
